- Rest & Sleep: A tranquil area dedicated to responsive, child-led sleep.
- Personal Care: A quiet routine area where dressing and diapering become respectful, shared learning experiences.
- Nutrition: An adaptable area transitioning from cozy adult-held feedings to child-sized weaning tables and real utensils.
- Movement & Play: An inviting space designed to inspire active exploration, tummy time, and both gross and fine motor skill mastery.
The Walking Environment (Ages 12–36 months)
Designed for active toddlers on the move, this community balances purposeful work and self-reliance with peaceful places to recharge:
- Personal Care & Self-Dressing: Equipped with child-proportioned fixtures, toddlers practice self-dressing and gentle toilet learning. To foster genuine self-awareness and independence, we transition directly to training underwear rather than pull-ups.
- Culinary & Food Preparation: Children move beyond eating to active participation, washing, peeling, cutting, and serving food with real, child-scaled tools.
- Practical Life & Cognitive Learning: Low, accessible shelves display developmental activities that foster concentration. Children explore real-world practical skills, vocabulary expansion, artistic expression, and music.
Parent Collaboration & Partnership
We believe supporting parents is just as vital as guiding young children. From offering prenatal guidance and newborn resources to helping you design enriching, child-friendly spaces at home, our educators partner closely with your family. Together, we ensure these foundational early years are joyful, confident, and deeply rewarding for both you and your child.
Our Educational Goals
Rooted in Maria Montessori’s principle of
“Help me to do it by myself,” our program supports each child’s individual path toward independence in self-care, physical movement, and active discovery. We strive to:
- Engage all five senses through purposeful, hands-on learning activities.
- Cultivate rich vocabulary and early communication skills.
- Honor each child’s natural drive for repetition to achieve true skill mastery.
- Empower functional independence using real tools (e.g., eating utensils, cleaning supplies).
- Instill lifelong confidence, autonomy, and a sense of self-worth.
The Montessori Difference vs. Traditional Daycare
At Petite Maison Montessori, our Infant Program goes beyond supervision to offer authentic developmental support. We cultivate emotional security, sensory awareness, and foundational cognitive skills in an environment designed specifically around the needs of the child.
Guided by certified Montessori educators, infants thrive in a calm, intentional atmosphere filled with purposeful materials. Through individual attention and self-directed exploration, infants build essential fine and gross motor skills, early speech, and genuine independence.
These initial months build the cornerstone for future learning. Petite Maison Montessori provides the rich, structured environment young children need to grow into curious, capable learners.
